Government School Kankara Emerged Winner In Quiz Competition Organized By Nigerian Medical Association

Students in Katsina have been charged to seek proper guidance and counseling before choosing a carrier of study in the university.

This was disclosed by Dr Sa’adiya Nasir during a one day guidance & counseling session organized by the Nigerian Medical Association which was held at the conference hall of Katsina orthopedic hospital.

Dr Sa’adiya spoke on the need for parents to stop forcing their children to study a particular course without giving them the proper guidance and counseling.

Dr Sa’adiya who is a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist call for more women to study medicine or other medical related courses.

She spoke at length by explaining to students the steps they need to take to become doctors and also the course combination when writing JAMB exams.

Earlier the Chairman Nigerian medical association Katsina State branch Dr Muhammed Usman Suleiman called on student to avoid excessive use of social media and dedicate more time to studies.

Dr Muhammed urged them to be respectful and obedient to their parents for them to be successful in life.

He also applauded the effort of Katsina state government in uplifting the standard of health care delivery and education in the state.

Highlights of the event was an inter science schools quiz competition organized by NMA for both government and private schools in Katsina state respectively.

Government science secondary school Kankara emerged 1st position, Government girls science secondary school came 2nd while Ulul Albab science secondary school came third.

Awards were given for best male student; best female student and overall best students that was clinched by Umar Hamisu form Government science secondary school Kankara.
