Ruling on Ex-Katsina Gov, Shema’s Motion for July 25


A Katsina State high court, yesterday, adjourned till July 25 the case by former Governor, Ibrahim Shema, challenging the main report of Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate loss of funds and properties in the state under his administration.Shema, in the motion, prayed that the commission be stopped from submitting its main report to the government. Shema’s counsel, Uyi Igunma, had approa-ched the court with the motion, declaring that the contents of the main report are more fabricated than a reality.

The judge, Justice Maikata Bako, adjourned the case till July 25 and directed that the Chairman of the commission, Ado Muhammad Maaji and other six members of the commission be served the notice of hearing through the state Attorney-General, Ahmed Elmarzuk, by a substitution service.

It will be recalled that the Chairman of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry, Maaji, while submitting its main report to Governor Aminu Masari, recently, claimed over N58.5 billion was missing and unaccounted for under Shema’s administration.
