Bank At Umaru Musa Yar'adua University Katsina Robbed By Gun Men

Three persons suspected to have  robbed the First Bank branch of Umaru Musa Yaradua University Katsina of about N11.2 million have been arrested and charged before a Magistrate court in Katsina.

  Suleiman Hamisu, Usman Ibrahim and Onyishi Uche  along side others who are on the run were allege to have burgled the said branch and disposed it of the said amount.

 The prosecuting police officer, Inspector Kabir Ibrahim, told the court that the trio conspired, attacked and robbed the bank's branch on Saturday 22/10/2016 of N11,215,000.00 at gun point.

He said, several items like Fire proof cabinet , CCTV camera, ATM machines were vandalised.

 He  said  that their actions are contrary to sections 6(b) of Robbery and Fire arms (special provisions) Act CAP R11,LFN,2004.

 The presiding judge, Fadila Dikko, then remanded the suspects having informed them that they were only brought for cognizance as the court had no jurisdiction to entertain the matter. She then asked the accused to approach a state high court for bail and ask them to be remanded in prison.
